Client advises late of a change in circumstances
Generally, the client should advise us within 14 days of any change in their circumstances so their circumstances can be reviewed and when applicable, a new rate of Income Related Rent can be calculated, activated and notified.
If a client does not advise us about their change in circumstances, and there is an under-calculation of the rate of Income Related Rent, an Income Related Rent debt may be established.
Note Income Related Rent debt is established once the housing provider has advised they have increased the client's rent. This is because MSD needs the rent effective date to establish the correct debt period.
