Hospitalisation or rest home care
If a client is going into hospital or rest home care for less than 8 weeks, they can have the same rate of Income Related Rent calculated for them during the period of their care.
After 8-weeks, the hospital or rest home care is considered to be permanent and the rate of Income Related Rent may be reviewed.
MSD must tell the remaining tenant or partner in the property should be advised to contact their housing provider to discuss the Tenancy Agreement (if applicable).
Notifying the housing provider
The housing provider will be notified by MSD the tenant is in rest home care or hospital when MSD is aware that this is the case and considers the change to be permanent.
The housing provider will decide on whether to end or change a tenancy.
