Warrant to arrest

Clients with a warrant to arrest can be placed on the register as a warrant to arrest does not necessarily affect their eligibility for social housing.

However, in some cases, clients with a warrant to arrest may have an active public risk alert notification. For clients with these notifications, their applications must be placed on hold to eliminate any risk to housing providers.

The reason for being placed on hold is that MSD has limited details about the level of risk the client poses and, as a result, needs to take all necessary precautions to protect housing providers who are part of the public.

Active public risk notifications are high risk alerts issued by the Police Commissioner when clients are considered to be a risk to the public. The suspension eliminates any potential risk to the providers and their staff.

Clients with an active public risk notification can be referred to a housing provider once the public risk alert has been cleared.
