Entitlement Date

The entitlement date for Jobseeker Support Student Hardship is usually:

• the day after the completion of examinations
• the day after the last day of required attendance for the term (where the student has no exams to sit)
• the day after student allowance ceased
• the day after the date the living costs component of student loan was paid to
• the day after the end of the school year (in the case of a secondary school student)
• the day after employment ceased (that is, after any holiday pay, sick pay, cessation leave, etc. has expired)
• the date job search commenced

Note a client must be seeking full-time work. MSD can assume that job search started straight after one of the above dates unless there is any proof that it didn't.

Where the client has more than one event, MSD must use the later event for their entitlement date.
