Investments
When a student has investments that generate income, that income is generally considered to be personal income for Student Allowances purposes.
This includes, but is not limited to, interest on savings accounts and term deposits, and the income derived from other forms of investments, such as; bonds, equity, trusts and shares.
If a student reinvests the income back into the fund, or into another fund or account that pays a lower rate of interest, then you need to consider whether this is a case of deprivation of income.
