Overseas study - Accommodation Benefit

Eligible students who are studying overseas get the standard rate of Accommodation Benefit for the New Zealand location of their education provider.

Example

Anastasia attends University of Auckland and gets the standard rate of Accommodation Benefit for Auckland.

Anastasia is currently on a student exchange, studying in France for 1 year and is eligible to get her Student Allowance while she is away. Anastasia gets the standard rate of Accommodation Benefit for Auckland during her overseas study period.
