Change in status
Benefit ceases
If a student's benefit ceases during their programme they will be eligible to get living costs from the date the benefit ceased, provided they are studying full-time on an approved programme.
Granted benefit
If a student is granted a benefit or becomes the spouse or partner of a beneficiary during their programme their living costs entitlement will cease from the date the benefit is granted.
Full-time students are not eligible for a main benefit but clients receiving a main benefit may study part-time provided they continue to meet the conditions of those benefits.
