Ordinarily resident and present in New Zealand on date of application for payment overseas
Clients must be ordinarily resident and present in New Zealand on the date they apply for payment overseas.
Generally New Zealanders who usually live overseas should not be regarded as ordinarily resident in New Zealand if they have recently returned to apply for New Zealand Superannuation.
Information held in the payment overseas application may help you to decide whether a client can be considered ordinarily resident in New Zealand. Contact International Services for more information.
