Moving to a reciprocal agreement country
Special Portability is cancelled from the payday after the client's departure from their Pacific country of residence.
For all countries with a reciprocal agreement except the United Kingdom, the client should be advised to apply for New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran's Pension under the reciprocal agreement on social security with that country.
International Services will reassess their entitlement to New Zealand Superannuation or Veteran's Pension.
United Kingdom
If a client has gone to live in the United Kingdom their payments will be cancelled from the payday after the date they left the Special Portability country. Clients should be advised to apply for a United Kingdom pension when they arrive in the United Kingdom.
