Commencement of payment in Australia

When a client applies for their New Zealand benefit or pension to be paid in Australia before their departure from New Zealand, payments in Australia will start on the first payday after their departure from New Zealand.

When a client applies from Australia the New Zealand benefit or pension will start on:

• the date they become entitled to the New Zealand benefit or pension
• the date they applied for the New Zealand benefit or
• the date the client applied for an Australian pension

whichever is the latest date.
