Commencement of payment in Denmark
When a client applies for their New Zealand benefit or pension to be paid in Denmark before their departure from New Zealand, payments will start on the first payday after their departure.
When a client applies from Denmark, the New Zealand benefit or pension will start on:
- the date they become entitled to the New Zealand benefit or pension
- the date the agreement with Denmark came into force (1 October 1997) or
- the date of application
whichever is the latest date.
Note that the initial stand-down applies to clients who are applying for New Zealand benefits other than New Zealand Superannuation or Veterans Pension.
The Danish authorities forward the application form and supporting documentation to International Services
