Danish pensions in New Zealand
When a former resident of Denmark applies for a New Zealand benefit or pension it is important to know whether they, their spouse or partner, or their dependants are receiving a Danish pension, or if they may be entitled to one.
A client who has previously resided in Denmark must show their overseas residence on the application form when they apply for any New Zealand benefit or pension.
The overseas residence details must be entered on CMS. These details are used by International Services to determine whether the client may be entitled to a Danish pension.
If the client, their spouse or partner, or their dependant is already receiving an overseas pension you should find out the details to establish whether this pension should be a direct deduction from the New Zealand benefit or pension.
The following Danish benefits and pensions are covered by the agreement and may be payable to former Danish residents living in New Zealand:
- Anticipatory Pension
- Disability Benefit
- Labour Market Supplementary Pension (ATP)
- Old Age Pension
