Last child turning 14
Clients receiving Sole Parent Support as a widow or widower will cease to be eligible for payments once their last child turns 14. Clients cannot transfer to Jobseeker Support once their child has turned 14 as Jobseeker Support is not included as a benefit payable under the Agreement with Ireland.
If the client returns to New Zealand after their last dependent child turns 14 they may be eligible for Jobseeker Support but will not be eligible for a New Zealand benefit if they remain in Ireland.
Supported Living Payment (health condition, injury, disability or totally blind) clients with dependent children or grandparented Widow's Benefit or Domestic Purposes Benefit for widowers with dependent children do not lose entitlement when their last child turns 14.
