Supported Living Payment
When a client from the Republic of Ireland meets all the qualifications for the New Zealand Supported Living Payment (health condition, injury, disability or totally blind) except residence they may qualify under the agreement with Ireland.
The agreement with Ireland allows periods of contributions to the Irish insurance scheme to be regarded as residence in New Zealand for a client to meet the period of residence qualification for Supported Living Payment (health condition, injury, disability or totally blind).
The client must meet the New Zealand medical criteria.
The client's contributions to the Irish insurance scheme together with any period of residence in New Zealand must total 2 continuous years.
The client may also be entitled to an Irish benefit or pension, which may be directly deducted from the New Zealand Supported Living Payment (health condition, injury, disability or totally blind).
