Veterans Pension
When a client from the Republic of Ireland meets all the qualifications for the New Zealand Veterans Pension except residence they may qualify under the agreement with Ireland.
The agreement with Ireland allows periods of contributions to the Irish insurance scheme since the age of 20 to be regarded as residence in New Zealand for a client to meet the period of residence qualification for Veterans Pension.
The client must meet the New Zealand service and disability qualifications.
The client may also be entitled to an Irish benefit or pension, which may be directly deducted from the New Zealand Veterans Pension.
SWIFTT
