Recording income
Any income a client receives, even when the income is less than $284.70 gross per week (as at 1 April 2026), must be added to the client's SWIFTT record on the INCMA screen.
This is to ensure any Extra help is reviewed correctly and will create a permanent audit trail of all income details.
If the income is over the benefit cut-out point, and SWIFTT will not accept this information then a note on CMS should be added.
Ensure the following details are recorded:
- source of income, such as the employer's details
- gross (before tax) amount of income received
- period that the income represents
- how the income was advised, for example, phoned in by the client
