No stand-down applies
An initial stand-down is not imposed in the following situations:
- Enrolled in secondary education
- In a training course approved by the Ministry
- Temporary employment
- Transfer between benefits
- Prisoners
- Entering a refuge
- Young person leaves Mangere Refugee Resettlement Centre
When no stand-down applies, the commencement date of the benefit is the later of either:
- the entitlement date or
- the application date
Note when no stand-down applies, the 28-day rule does not apply.
