Treatment of sick leave and annual leave
Young person intending to return to the same employer
If a young person has received any sick leave payments they would not be eligible for Young Parent Payment until these payments had stopped. You then assess any initial stand-down.
Young people are not required to use any sick leave they may have if they are intending to return to the same employer.
Annual leave entitlement
Young people are not required to use up their annual leave entitlement if they are intending to return to the same employer.
