Young Parent Payment : Contents
Young person turns 20 years old
Generally when a young person turns 20 years old the Young Parent Payment should stop. However there areĀ 2 situations where the payment can continue to be paid after they turn 20 years old. These are where a young person:
- must receive Young Parent Payment for a minimum of 6 months and cannot receive another main benefit (excluding Supported Living Payment on the ground of having a health condition, injury or disability) until after this period
- chooses to continue to receive Young Parent Payment if they remain in education, training, or work-based learning
