Card History Letters and Special Plastic Cards

Because a physical card cannot be issued for short-term clients who qualify, a Card History Letter can be issued:

• where a benefit has been granted for 4 weeks or less (for example a short-term Jobseeker Support) or
• if a card is lost, stolen or destroyed within 4 weeks of the expiry date.

Note a Card History Letter can only be issued by the Senior Support Centre.

Special Plastic Cards are issued for clients in the following situations:

• clients on a portable pension
• clients who have a name that is longer than 27 characters or
• clients who would normally have a card history letter issued but have specifically requested a plastic card.
