Wage subsidy

Wage subsidy is the purchase of an employment placement for a client with a health condition, injury, or disability to gain employment skills and to obtain unsubsidised employment

Note a client can receive both the purchase of services and a wage subsidy.

Payment

The type of assistance a client is receiving will determine how this assistance is paid.

Purchase of services

The amount paid for actual and reasonable costs for the purchase of services is generally reduced dollar for dollar by any amount of publicly funded assistance for the same or a similar purpose available to the client.

Wage subsidy

The amount paid as a wage subsidy is a weekly amount of not more than the amount of the person's wage or salary calculated on a weekly basis before the deduction of income tax.
