Payment

You pay either the:

• maximum payment or
• actual net income lost for the week

whichever is the lesser amount.

The maximum amount that can be paid in any qualifying 26-week period is $2,754 (as at 1 April 2026) for each applicant. The maximum amount cannot be exceeded.

If the client is unable to work for more than 1 week you should consider if the client qualifies for Emergency Benefit.
