Completing a Jobseeker Profile not reasonable for partners
If it is not reasonable for a partner to complete their Jobseeker Profile before their benefit can be granted, MSD can use its discretion to revoke the requirement.
Circumstances that may mean the requirement is not reasonable could include (but are not limited to) where a partner:
- is applying for a benefit following a death or serious illness in the family
- has learning difficulties or disabilities that would make it very difficult to complete the Jobseeker Profile, even with support from MSD
- has had an accident and is in hospital, but has provided all other required information
When the requirement to complete a Jobseeker Profile has been revoked, MSD may assign it after their benefit has been granted as an obligation-related activity that the partner must complete.
