Pre-benefit activity should not be assigned to a partner

There are some situations when a pre-benefit activity should not be assigned.

These include when:

  • the date MSD assigns a pre-benefit activity is not within 10 working days of the partner's date of first contact
  • the pre-benefit activity is not available for the partner to undertake within 10 working days of the date of first contact
  • a pre-benefit activity can only be assigned if there is reasonable opportunity for the partner to undertake it at any time during the 20 working day period.
  • initial contact is from a third party, eg an agent or the primary client. MSDmust have direct contact with the partner before a pre-benefit activity can be assigned. The date the third party makes contact can be used as the partner's date of first contact.
  • the partner has a job to go to or is starting a job within 13 weeks
