Accommodation Supplement: Contents
Example - calculating income from assets - non-beneficiaries
A single client applying for Accommodation Supplement has $3,100 in cash assets.
The cash asset limit for a single person is:
- $2,700
Use the following calculation:
Asset | $3,100 |
less exemption | $2,700 |
Equals | $400 |
For every $100 a non-beneficiary has over the cash asset limit, $1.00 is charged as income. In this example, when $3,100 is added as a cash asset in the INCMA screen, SWIFTT includes $4.00 as weekly income when Accommodation Supplement is granted or reassessed.
