Death of a client or child
When the caregiver or child (that Away from Home Allowance is paid for) dies, payments stop from the day after death.
Note when a client has a Community Services or SuperGold Card, the card must be manually cancelled and death details added to Person Details latch in CMS.

Cost of funeral
The person responsible for the cost of the funeral may be able to receive a Funeral Grant.
Verification
You must be satisfied that you can accurately identify the client's record.
Generally, we will accept verbal notification of death. This advice can be acted on when you determine the relationship of the caller to the deceased and obtaining sufficient information to provide confirmation of the deceased's identity.
Follow-up verification should generally be requested. A copy of the death certificate or a copy of the death notice is acceptable support documentation.
