Allowable costs
Allowable costs that can be considered for Community Costs are the client's ongoing costs in the community that are essential to help them to reintegrate into the community at the end of their treatment.
For the assessment of Community Costs, all costs are calculated on a weekly basis.
Allowable costs include (but are not limited to):
- accommodation costs
(including mortgage, rates and insurance) - storage costs
- childcare costs for any dependent child
- agreed period payments
(for example hire purchase for essential household furniture or appliances) - employment and employment-related training costs
(for example an apprentice paying off their work tools)
There could be costs other than those listed, that because of the client's individual circumstances should be included as an allowable cost.
