Beds, chairs, and tables

If a client meets all qualifications, a Recoverable Assistance Payment may be made for the purchase of the most economical items of essential beds, chairs, and tables.

Note that beds include cots, bassinets and pepi-pods.

Quotes are to be produced from new or second-hand dealers or retailers. Payment should not be approved for purchases of furniture through private sales.

Except where exceptional circumstances exist, payment cannot exceed:

• 6 weeks of the appropriate rate of Supported Living Payment that the client would be entitled to receive or
• $200

whichever is the least amount.
