Clothing

If a client meets all qualifications, a Recoverable Assistance Payment may be made to purchase essential clothing (excluding school uniforms).

Assistance for clothing can only be authorised to meet essential needs and this need should be met through the most economic item(s) available.

Except where exceptional circumstances exist, payment cannot exceed:

• 6 weeks of the appropriate rate of Supported Living Payment that the client would be entitled to receive or
• the amount indicated below

whichever is the least amount.
