Review if there is a mistake
A mistake can arise when (but is not limited to) a client or Senior Services - residential care identifies:
- assets or income not included in the financial means assessment
- assets or income have been included at an incorrect amount in the financial means assessment or
- assets or income have been included in the financial means assessment but should not have been included
It is not considered to be a mistake where income actually received is different from an estimated amount.
When it is considered a mistake has been made Senior Services - residential care can review the earlier financial means assessment.
Example 1
A term deposit account was forgotten by the client and not entered on the financial means assessment form. The earlier mistake means assessment should be reviewed.
Example 2
The case manager assessed the income contribution and Government Superannuation was included twice. The earlier mistaken means assessment should be reviewed.
If you are unsure what is a mistake you must discuss the circumstances with your Service Centre Trainer.
