Review - partner dies
When the partner of a person who has been financially means assessed dies, you must complete a review of the person's financial means assessment. A review must be done if the client is receiving a Residential Care Subsidy.
The effective date of the review is the day after the date of death of the partner.
If the previous financial means assessment confirms that the client would still be eligible for Residential Care Subsidy with no private contribution, then the information can be used to complete the review. A review form is not required in this situation.
Note if both partners were in receipt of the Residential Care Subsidy, the deceased partner's gifting is not included in the review of the surviving client's gifting assessment. This practice is applicable in this situation only.
