Client authorisation for benefit redirection
If a client can receive Residential Support Subsidy from the Ministry of Health the client must contribute any benefit they receive (less a Personal Allowance) towards the cost of their care. This is done through a redirection of benefit directly to the service provider.
To do this the client needs to sign the "client authorisation" section of the Residential Support Subsidy application form or complete the Residential Support Subsidy - client authorisation form.
The amount you should redirect to the service provider is the client's main benefit less the Personal Allowance.
Please note
The granting of a "redirection of benefit" does not give the recipient of the payments any other decision-making powers over the client's affairs, or grant them access to personal information about the client.
