Client has other income
Any income the client receives may affect their benefit. If the income is in excess of the exemption amount the main benefit will be reduced.
If the client has authorised the redirection of their benefit payment to the service provider, the amount paid to the service provider will be affected when the benefit rate is reduced due to the clients' income. If the income reduces their benefit rate below the benefit contribution amount, then the client will be paid the balance of the benefit payment as Personal Allowance.
The client will need to make their own arrangements with the service provider to pay the balance of their care costs.
