Permanent absence

If a client is leaving New Zealand permanently, Emergency Benefit must stop from the day after departure.

Moving to the United Kingdom

If the client is moving to the United Kingdom they may qualify for a benefit or pension in that country.

Moving to Australia

If the client is moving to Australia it is important that they are aware that they may not be able to receive a benefit until they have resided in Australia for two years after being granted permanent residence status.
