Outcome

A young person who is exempt from all of their activity obligations advises that they wish to travel to Australia to visit friends.

The young person is able to be absent from New Zealand and continue to be paid for up to 28 days in any 52 week period.

Note that a client with a partial exemption is still subject to some obligations and therefore they can only be paid while they are overseas if the travel will not prevent them from meeting their obligations.
