Domestic circumstances
A client's domestic circumstances may prevent them from earning a sufficient livelihood to support themselves (and any dependent family). Generally, this is due to caring responsibilities.
There may be other reasons and these will need to be determined before a decision can be made on theĀ equivalent benefit.
For more information see:
Note when a client has made a choice that has restricted their ability to earn a sufficient livelihood, you will need to consider the client's ability to change their circumstances to alleviate their hardship and whether payment of Emergency Benefit is justified.
