Partner does not accept the results of a failed screening test
If the partner does not accept the results of failed screening test the employer, training provider or drug test provider may decide to send the failed sample to the laboratory for evidential testing.
If you have received information back from the employer, training provider or drug test provider that the partner has subsequently failed the evidential drug test you must initiate a drug test obligations failure. Centralised Services will organise the debt recovery of both the screening and evidential drug tests (if the test was being conducted for a suitable job).
Sample sent for evidential test
Some employers, training providers, or drug test providers, will send all screening test samples for evidential testing, regardless of whether the partner accepted the result of the failed screening test or not.
If the partner passes the evidential drug test, then the partner is not required to repay Work and Income for the cost of either the failed screening drug test or the evidential drug test.
If the partner also fails the evidential drug test, the partner is required to repay Work and Income for the costs of both the failed tests (screening and evidential).
Partner disputes the results of an evidential drug test
A partner can dispute the result of a failed evidential test.
