Effect on benefit

Any inclusion or exclusion of a dependent child from a client's benefit will result in a general review of the client's Emergency Maintenance Allowance and any extra help they are getting.

You may need to review the following:

• Accommodation Supplement
  Changes to the family composition may result in a change to the Accommodation Supplement entry thresholds.
• Non-standard benefit rate
  Where a child is added or removed you may need to manually adjust the non-standard rate of payment.
• Special Benefit
  Any change to family circumstances will result in a review of Special Benefit. A child included or excluded from the Emergency Maintenance Allowance may result in a change to the allowable costs for Special Benefit.
• Temporary Additional Support
  Any change to family circumstances will result in a review of Temporary Additional Support. A child included or excluded from the Emergency Maintenance Allowance may result in a change to the allowable costs for Temporary Additional Support.
