Emergency Maintenance Allowance : Contents
Split care arrangements
In a split care situation you can only pay Sole Parent Support to one parent unless the care arrangement has the recognition, authority or approval of the Family Court.
When a sole parent client does not qualify for Sole Parent Support or any other benefit, and is unable to earn sufficient income to support themselves because of their current childcare commitments, you can pay an Emergency Maintenance Allowance.
Additional criteria
To qualify for Emergency Maintenance Allowance there are other criteria the client must meet.
