Live organ donors

When a client or their partner has decided to donate a kidney or liver tissue, they can keep getting their current benefit.

The client or partner must provide evidence they have been accepted as a live organ donor.

Medical evidence must be signed by a registered medical practitioner or nurse practitioner.

Note a dentist or midwife cannot provide medical evidence for clients who are live organ donors.

Change of circumstances

If the client has a change of circumstances and they no longer qualify for their current benefit, they may still need financial assistance from MSD during their recovery time. MSD can consider transferring the client to Emergency Benefit.
