Reporting progress
You can require your client to report on their job search progress in meeting their work or work preparation obligations.
You must advise the client that if they fail to comply with this obligation without a good and sufficient reason, they have an obligations failure.
Partners with work preparation obligations
You can require a partner to report on their progress in meeting their work preparation obligations. This may include reporting on progress of any activities they have been required to undertake.
A partner can report by either phone, email or in person.
Example
You have asked a partner with a 3 year old child to research child care options and training options available in their community and to call you in a month to update you on their progress. If the client does not contact you, you should initiate an obligations failure.
Clients and partners with work obligations
You can require a client with work obligations to report on their job search progress.
A client can report by either phone, email or in person. Generally a client should not be required to report more than once a week.
Example
You have asked the client to register with various recruitment agencies and call you weekly to update on their job search progress.
If the client does not contact you, you should initiate an obligations failure.
