Note clients who met the Parental Assistance Test to qualify for Jobseeker Support must also advise MSD of any change in a parent's circumstances that affects their entitlement.
Youth activity obligations for young partners
Some young partners of clients getting Jobseeker Support have youth activity obligations instead of work or work preparation obligations. This applies when they are:
- aged 16 to 17 years old without dependent children or
- aged 16 to 19 years old with a dependent child and
- married to, or in a civil union or de facto relationship with a person getting Jobseeker Support
Note social obligations do not apply to young partners as some of their youth activity obligations are like social obligations.
