Training
A client who has started training or is about to start an approved training course must still meet all of the qualifications of the Jobseeker Support.
If a client is in approved training they must continue to meet their work obligations, including being available for full-time employment.
If the client has left their employment or has taken leave without pay to attend an approved training course, the client cannot receive the Jobseeker Support.
Offenders in training
The Department of Corrections may arrange for offenders serving non-custodial sentences to attend courses as part of their sentence, for example, drug or alcohol rehabilitation or anger management courses.
Clients participating in these courses qualify for the Jobseeker Support but are expected to re-arrange the time of these courses if an opportunity of full-time employment becomes available.
