Debt recovery from arrears or terminal benefit
Arrears
When a client has arrears owing to them at the time of their death and they have an outstanding debt balance, you should attempt to recover the debt, in full, from the final payment.
Terminal benefit
When a client has an outstanding debt balance and terminal benefit is payable, you should not attempt to recover the debt in full from the terminal benefit payment.
