Verification of income
When a client has a review, MSD may require verification of income earned for the 52 weeks since the last anniversary of their New Zealand Superannuation commencement date.
Clients getting New Zealand Superannuation or Veterans Pension who also get Disability Allowance are not required to provide verification of their income if it is below the relevant income limit by at least $20 per week ($1040.00 per annum).
If a client has a grandparented non-qualified partner included in their New Zealand Superannuation or Veterans Pension, they are not required to provide verification of their income if it is below the grandparented non-qualified partner income exemption by at least $20.00 per week ($1040.00 per annum).
If the client cannot provide verification (for example payslips) then you can contact the employer and ask them to complete the Employment and earnings information for reviews (V26) form.
Once we have confirmed income details a due/paid income assessment will need to be done.
