SWIFTT process - Single rate for partner in the community

In order to pay the single sharing accommodation rate of New Zealand Superannuation you will need to:

  • add the rate of payment code 52 in the NDTA screen for the client in the community and reassess in the SPBR screen
  • issue the client the SWIFTT letter
  • complete a client event note (see living alone template)

Single living alone rate

In order to pay the single living alone rate you will need to:

  • go to NDTA screen for the 'In community' partner
  • fill in the living alone fields - which are:
    • living alone (Y/N)
    • Effective date DD/MM/YY
    • Accommodation arrangement (code from Codes screen)
    • SPBR (if required)
    • BDR (if required)

Note that where the client has a partner in hospital (as opposed to residential care) this is an Accommodation Arrangement code in its own right.

  • issue the client the SWIFTT letter
  • complete client event note (see template)

Rate of payment for partner in care

There is no change for the partner in care, they continue to receive the half married, civil union or de facto rate of New Zealand Superannuation.
