Sole Parent Support : Contents
Permanent absence
If a client is leaving New Zealand permanently, the Sole Parent Support must be cancelled from the day after departure.
If the client is moving to a country that has a reciprocal agreement with New Zealand they may qualify for a benefit or pension in that country.
Moving to Australia
If the client is moving to Australia it is important that they are aware that they may not be able to receive a benefit until they have resided in Australia for two years after being granted permanent residence status.
