Nominated person makes contact after completing form
In some cases, a nominated person may complete the Relationship Status Verification form, and then contact Work and Income to state that they want to withdraw or change their statement.
If this occurs, you should consider why the nominated person is retracting their statement, and along with any other information gathered, determine whether the client qualifies for Sole Parent Support.
Note the client must not be told that the nominated person has contacted Work and Income about their statement. You need to make sure you protect the nominated person by thinking carefully about what you note on the client's record. You should follow existing practices for managing allegations if a third party makes contact to change or withdraw statements.
