Full-time employment
When a child starts full-time employment the child is no longer a dependent child.
Note if the dependent child is temporarily working more than 30 hours per week during the school holidays and they are returning to school after the holidays, they are not considered in full-time employment.
Date of review
Exclude the child from the Supported Living Payment from the beginning of the next pay period in which the child started work.
Family tax credit
Family tax credit payments should be stopped from the start of the next pay period in which the child starts full-time employment to avoid an overpayment (with Inland Revenue) for the client.
