Weekend leave
Supported Living Payment is paid for a seven day period, covering Monday to Sunday. Therefore, where the client is receiving the hospital rate and they are on weekend leave you should pay the appropriate full rate of benefit for the number of days the client is on leave and subsequently incurring additional expenses in the community.
Example
Client is on leave from Friday to Monday, you will need to pay the appropriate full rate of benefit for four days. Generally, you will do this by completing a back dated review so that SWIFTT will pay the appropriate full rate of Supported Living Payment for four days.
Note the dates of admission and discharge are not regarded as days spent in hospital.
